
COL Edward Teague

Colonel Ed Teague, Ph.D., is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and G6 at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Serving in the role since 2015, Ed oversees the CIO/G6 Directorate ensuring USMA has the robust, secure, and flexible information environment it needs to support the USMA mission and across the character, academic, military, and physical developmental pillars.
Ed graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from USMA in 1995 commissioning in the US Army Aviation Branch. He served assignments in Schofield Barracks, HI, Fort Drum, NY, the Republic of Korea, Arlington, VA, and Afghanistan flying the OH-58 A/C, OH-58D, and AH-1. Ed also served in the Operations Research/Systems Analysis Branch and at USMA as an assistant professor and program director in the Department of Systems Engineering.
Ed’s experience includes joint/combined scout, attack, reconnaissance, intelligence, and analysis at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels along with aviation maintenance, counter-IED operations, and information systems. Ed has an MS in Operations Research from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Each winter, Ed runs the West Point snow sports instruction program at the Victor Constant Ski Slope. Ed enjoys spending time with his terrific wife, four wonderful children, and two poorly-behaved dogs.
