Accenture Federal Services Secures Potential $170M TSA Contract for Security Operations Support

The Transportation Security Administration Security Operations has awarded Accenture Federal Services a five-year blanket purchase agreement with a ceiling value of $170 million.

Under the Flexible Agile Scalable Teams contract, Accenture Federal will provide Agile development and support services to enhance TSA’s security operations across various transportation sectors, including airports, freight rail, passenger rail and maritime, the company said.

In support of the U.S. government’s Cloud First and Mobile First initiatives, the contract award leverages Accenture’s expertise in Agile methodologies and cloud technologies to improve the TSA’s existing applications and introduce mobile solutions.

Anthony Pinheiro, AFS managing director and TSA lead, said the agreement continues the company’s longstanding support for the TSA and highlighted the use of commercial off-the-shelf technologies to enhance the TSA SO’s efficiency and business value.

The contract builds on AFS’ previous work with the TSA, including supporting its vetting and credentialing systems and modernizing its Secure Flight prescreening program.

The TSA SO manages the security of transportation systems across 440 U.S. airports and 280 international airports.
