Accenture Federal Services to Acquire Novetta to Expand Advanced Analytics Offerings

Accenture Federal Services has entered into an agreement to acquire Novetta to offer advanced analytics capabilities to government customers.

With 1,300 employees, Novetta offers expertise in software development, data science, artificial intelligence, cyber, cloud and information exploitation, Accenture said Tuesday.

Novetta CEO Tiffanny Gates, a member of the Potomac Officers Club and a three-time Wash100 winner, said that AFS is the “ideal home” for Novetta’s staff and that the acquisition is in the best interest of the company’s stakeholders.

“They will provide new growth opportunities for our people, enable expanded capabilities for our customers, and allow us to accelerate our growth trajectory,” Gates said.

Novetta said it also offers capabilities in open-source analytics, DevSecOps, multi-intelligence analytics and cloud engineering for customers in the defense, intelligence and federal law enforcement communities.

DevSecOps is the concept of ingraining security into the DevOps process, a software development and IT operations philosophy aimed at shortening development time while maintaining high quality.

Experts from the Defense Information Systems Agency consider DevSecOps an important part of the Department of Defense’s effort to continuously modernize information technology.

AFS CEO John Goodman, a four-time Wash100 awardee, said the acquisition will scale up his company’s digital capabilities and strengthen its presence in the national security sector.

“By joining forces, we will help clients in all government sectors become leaders in using sophisticated analytics and emerging technologies,” Goodman added.

AFS will acquire Novetta from global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group, which acquired the analytics company from Arlington Capital Partners in 2015. The new acquisition is subject to regulatory review and other customary closing conditions, AFS added.
