Accenture to Support Navy’s IT Transformation Effort
The U.S. Navy has selected Accenture Federal Services to serve as the prime systems integrator in a logistics information technology transformation effort that aims to increase the military service's weapon system uptime and reduce support costs. Under the Model Based Product Support program, Accenture will help improve Naval Sea Systems Command’s maritime MBPS family of integrated systems by developing a prototype maintenance and supply resource optimization model, the company said Monday. The 12-month, $11.3M other transaction agreement also requires Accenture to deliver a next-generation MBPS system with enterprise and field-level capability to acquire, deploy and sustain weapon systems’ digital twins and enable predictive analysis and modeling tools. The prototype must be able to dynamically execute maintenance and supply actions on ships and submarines. Accenture's solution is eyed to provide support both ashore and afloat and will be cyber-secure and auditable.
