Air Force Taps MicroTech, Agile Defense for Comms Support Services
The U.S. Air Force has selected MicroTech and Agile Defense to work on a $159M task order for communications support under the Network-Centric Solutions-2 Network Operations Infrastructure Small Business Set Aside contract. According to MicroTech CEO Tony Jimenez, the partnership will provide operations and maintenance support to the USAF's information technology infrastructure, ops center, and enterprise. The effort will support Air Forces Central Command's Combined Air and Space Operations Center, MicroTech said Tuesday. The CAOC provides the command and control of airpower throughout the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. It serves as the operational bridge that integrates and synchronizes strategic decisions to tactical-level execution.
