Air Force to Discuss GenAI Adoption With Industry, Academia
Two offices within the Department of the Air Force are planning to host three roundtable discussions with industry and academia on potential applications of generative artificial intelligence.
According to a notice posted on SAM .gov, the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office will organize separate sessions for small businesses, large businesses and the academic community in May to discuss the improvements GenAI can bring to intelligence, operational planning, administrative and business processes; policy recommendations to ensure responsible GenAI adoption; agile approaches to adopting the technology; and GenAI training for U.S. Air and Space Force personnel, DefenseScoop reported.
The department aims to have no more than 10 businesses or schools participating in each session. Interested parties are invited to submit answers to the questions DAF provided under each focus area by May 2 for large companies, May 9 for small businesses and May 21 for academia.
The solicitation indicated that the Air Force may schedule additional roundtables or follow-up sessions if necessary.
