AWS Chief: Cloud Plays a Vital Role in Development, Deployment of Emerging Technologies

Amazon Web Services Director of Aerospace and Satellite Clint Crosier has shared his insight on the role cloud computing will play in the growth of emerging technologies, including its development and deployment.

In an interview with Geospatial World, Crosier, a past POC speaker, said AWS has been investing for a long time in bringing the cloud to every data or application. He also shared how the company is approaching in-orbit processing, edge computing and quantum communications.

Crosier also discussed AWS’ contribution to ensure a sustainable future, his views on the need for secured and encrypted communications with the growing data on the cloud, and the role AWS plays in the new ground-as-a-service offering, Geospatial World reported.

AWS is among government and private customers’ preferred cloud providers. In March, it rolled out implementation strategies for the IAM Identity Center to help with facilitating workforce authentication and authorization.

In September, it also received a $50 million blanket purchase agreement to supply the U.S. Space Force with commercial cloud products and professional services as part of the launch missions of the Space Launch Delta 45 and 30 units.
