American Robotics Enrolls Optimus System in AUVSI’s Green UAS Program
Ondas Holdings announced that its American Robotics subsidiary has enrolled the Optimus System in the Green UAS program.
Green UAS is a program administered by the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems designed to establish unmanned aerial system security measures and foster a safe and competitive drone market. It also gives companies a standardized route to achieving Blue UAS approval.
Joining Green UAS would give American Robotics a path to ensure that Optimus can be used by the departments of Defense and Homeland Security, as well as other government agencies, Ondas Holdings said.
The Optimus is a fully automated UAS capable of performing various missions non-stop. It offers secure and rapid data processing and broadcasting, the ability to operate in harsh and austere environment, GPS communications and cloud and local controls.
Other drone manufacturers have had success in securing approvals for their UAS solutions.
In June, Red Cat Holdings announced that its Teal Drones subsidiary has been included in the Defense Intelligence Unit’s Blue UAS list. George Matus, founder and CEO of Teal Drones, said securing a spot on the list means that the Teal 2 drone meets cybersecurity, safety and operational standards and that the drones can be used by military, government and commercial clients.
