American Systems’ Programs Reach CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Development and Services

API Process Improvements has appraised American Systems’ operations and strategic solutions programs at Capability Maturity Model Integration Maturity Level 3 for development and services, American Systems said.

The CMMI Maturity Level 3 appraisal expands the scope of American Systems’ CMMI certification from select programs to its entire solutions portfolio, including information technology, program mission support, engineering and analysis, test and evaluation and training.

The Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s CMMI is a globally recognized industry standard that helps organizations improve operational capabilities and performance. The certification is particularly important for government contractors, as many DOD and U.S. government contracts require a CMMI appraisal, especially for software development projects.

According to American Systems, the appraisal means the company has well-defined program management processes tailored to specific customer requirements and focused on continuous improvement.

John Steckel, American Systems’ president and CEO and a 4×24 member, highlighted the company’s commitment to process improvement and its workforce and to delivering consistent and reliable results to its customers.
