ARA Completes SATCOM Technologies Acquisition
Antenna Research Associates announced that it has completed its acquisition of SATCOM Technologies from AQYR Technologies.
ARA CEO and President Logen Thiran, a Potomac Officers Club member, said the acquisition will help build his company's satellite communication products offering in support of government, military and commercial customers worldwide, Govcon Wire reported Tuesday.
“With the addition of AQYR Technologies, our antenna systems portfolio in Satcom market is now expanded to include satcom terminals where AQYR brings unique capability with a single button push and auto acquisition of signal in an optimal ground terminal package for the customers,” Thiran said.
SATCOM Technologies will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of ARA and continue running under the name AQYR Technologies, an ARA company. The acquired entity will continue its business from its site in Nashua, New Hampshire.
The subsidiary will help ARA across various sites in the United States and Europe. AQYR first began producing satellite communication receive suites when it was operating as a part of Windmill.
“ARA is excited to launch our new logo for the company while building on its 57 years of strong history as a renowned antenna company, we are on our way to become a Communications Solutions company for our customers worldwide,” Thiran added.
Founded in 1963, ARA is an antenna solutions provider based in Laurel, Maryland. The company serves customers from the electronic warfare, law enforcement, military communications, satellite communications and radar markets.
AQYR Technologies is a provider of tactical, auto acquire satellite communication terminals for the commercial and military markets, according to its LinkedIn profile.
