In July 2020, the joint venture of RQ Construction and DPR Construction (RQ-DPR JV) won an estimated $144 million contract award with a ceiling value of $178 million from the U.S. Navy. The work requires the joint venture to construct the Hurricane Florence Recovery Package 2 Headquarters at Marine Corps Base Camp in Lejeune, North Carolina.

The site suffered severe damage during Hurricane Florence’s landfall in September 2018. RQ-DPR will replace the building, with the construction divided into eight headquarters facility construction projects at Camp Lejeune. The work’s expected completion date is in March 2025.

2. General Services Administration’s National Personnel Records Center Construction, $112 Million

DPR Construction built the National Personnel Records Center for the General Services Administration, St. Louis, under the design and built a contract with HKS. The Molasky Group of Companies leases the building to the GSA. The new building houses over 800 National Personnel Records Center’s employees and 14 federal government agencies. It also stores 500 Persons of Exceptional Prominence and notable people like Elvis Presley, Douglas MacArthur, and former U.S. Presidents.

In June 2018, the RQC-DPR joint venture won an estimated $30 million contract to design and construct the Marine Corps Air Base’s dental clinic at Camp Lejeune. The team will provide a new multi-story facility with a third floor. The work performed in Jacksonville, North Carolina, includes furnishing engineering systems, including HVAC, fire suppression, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, etc. the expected completion date was July 2020.

In May 2018, RQ-DPR was awarded an estimated $22 million firm-fixed-price contract with a ceiling of $24,591,746 to renovate the Fleet Training Building N25A at Naval Station Norfolk’s fire suppression and smoke detection systems, toilets, elevators, and building exits.

The work includes lead and asbestos removal, canopy repairs, exterior painting, roof replacement, termite infestation treatment, and upgrades for major building systems to meet the code requirements and ATFP standards, such as park redesigning and floor supports.

5. U.S. Navy’s Mobile Communications Detachment Support Facility, $11.8 Million

In September 2015, the Atlanta-based joint venture of DPR Hardin Construction and WGI won an estimated $12 million contract award from the U.S. Navy. Under the firm-fixed-price contract, the team constructed a two-story mobile communication detachment support facility at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek in Virginia. The facilities were equipped with functions, including operational gear storage, applied construction, and a communications lab.

6. National Institutes of Health Building Renovation, $26.7 Million

In November 2016, DPR Construction was contracted to renovate the aging laboratory at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Building 29B was built in 1993-1994 as an annex for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) on the NIH campus.

Before DPR constructed the new basement, it performed remediation of hazardous materials and removed various equipment. Additional work included all utility and interior systems, exterior windows, roofing, and penthouse enclosures. DPR also upgraded elevators and stairwells. The project was completed in 2019.
