U.S. Army Maj. Michael Krogh to Speak at the 2024 Army Summit

The 2024 Army Summit will feature Major Michael Krogh, the Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Operations Support Element commander and director of Cyber Solutions Development (CSD).

Krogh will be one of the speakers for the “Software Development Driving Advancement for Army Missions” panel, where he will discuss the advancements and innovations in Army operations.

 

Who is Maj. Michael Krogh?

Maj. Michael Krogh stands out as a crucial leader within the Army. As the INSCOM Operation Support Element commander and the CSD director, he oversees critical initiatives that enhance the Army’s cyber and intelligence capabilities. 

Previously, Krogh served as an armor officer with the 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Baumholder, Germany, and supported the Operation Enduring Program as a tank platoon leader, reconnaissance platoon leader and executive officer in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Moreover, Krogh commanded Charlie Company, the 40th expeditionary signal battalion, upon completion of the signal captain career course. He was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq to provide tactical communications for Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. 

In 2016, Krogh transitioned to the Army’s cyber branch. He joined the National Security Agency’s Computer Network Operations and Development Program (CNODP), where he developed cyber capabilities for offensive and defensive operations. 

His participation in the CNODP showcased his commitment to excellence through his leadership of the capabilities support detachment in Maryland. His contributions were pivotal in creating cutting-edge cyber solutions to address emerging threats to national security.

 

Michael Krogh’s Momentous Work at the Army

Krogh has been instrumental in advancing military intelligence and cybersecurity within the Army. His innovative strategies have significantly enhanced the service branch’s cyber defense capabilities and standards.

In April 2024, Fort George G. Meade and Colonel Benjamin Sangster hosted a change of command ceremony for the Task Force Praetorian (TF-P) Operational Support Element. Maj. Ben Liles handed over command of the TF-P to Maj. Michael Krogh, who was well-regarded for his leadership of CNODP. 

“I’ve worked with many of you over the years and I’m constantly humbled by how wildly intelligent and talented you all are. Together, let’s embrace the challenges ahead and make a difference worthy of our team’s potential.” Krogh stated during the ceremony.
