AWS Extends Support to Agencies for OMB AI Management Compliance
Amazon Web Services is extending its expertise to U.S. public sector customers to comply with the Office of Management and Budget’s mandate to strengthen the governance, innovation and risk management of artificial intelligence.
With AWS’s AI and machine learning services, federal agencies have access to solutions that allow them to develop and manage AI applications while ensuring oversight and transparency. The AWS suite, which includes Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Connect and Amazon Transcribe, comes with built-in governance and compliance features.
Under “M-24-10: Advancing Governance, Innovation, and Risk Management for Agency Use of Artificial Intelligence,” the OMB set out recommendations on enhancing AI governance, improving AI innovation and better managing AI risks, AWS said.
In addition to complying with the OMB regulation, AWS also helps organizations achieve government-specific certifications, including the Department of Defense Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
AWS has been helping federal agencies make the most of AI. In December, it partnered with AI-enabled business intelligence solution firm BigBear.ai to help organizations improve their supply chains.
