BAE Systems Hosts Hackathon to Drive AI-Powered Geospatial Intelligence Solutions

BAE Systems recently conducted a hackathon aimed at leveraging artificial intelligence in the development of geospatial intelligence solutions with dual-use commercial applications.

A part of the company’s Mission Advantage program, the hackathon focused on using AI for data analysis and integration to enhance the military’s decision-making process, ultimately giving them a battlefield advantage, BAE Systems said.

Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft and other Industry leaders in AI and data integration participated in the event.

According to BAE Systems, the hackathon’s outcomes and future events are expected to propel advancements in automated object detection, data analysis workflows and data integration, aiming to meet its customers’ evolving needs in the national security and defense sectors.

Peder Jungck, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems’ Intelligence Solutions division and a 4×24 member, highlighted the hackathon’s importance in showcasing expertise and fostering industry-wide collaboration.
