Booz Allen Exec Highlights Need to Address Data Sharing Challenges in Defense Missions

Steve Escaravage, executive vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton’s global defense business, has encouraged the American industry to address data-sharing challenges in support of defense missions.

According to Escaravage, a 2024 Wash100 awardee, a 4×24 member and a former Potomac Officers Club speaker, tech innovators should refer to the latest National Defense Strategy to determine how they can advance technologies in line with the U.S. defense objectives.

Addressing data sharing challenges also involves creating new opportunities for new commercial entrants through investments, Escaravage said in a Booz Allen commentary Defense One published.

Booz Allen is using its corporate venture capital arm, Booz Allen Ventures, to support early-stage technology with the potential to bring improvements to the Department of Defense’s operations.

In January, the venture capital arm said it made its first investment in a space company that could transform intelligence gathering.

According to Escaravage, the company is investing in technologies powered by artificial intelligence and autonomy, including tactical edge mission technologies and digital enablers for processing information, believing that the capabilities will provide the United States with decisive advantage and integrated deterrence, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
