Booz Allen Provides Cyber Defense Operations Support to SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton a 10-year, $113M contract for modernized cyber defense operations support.

The new contract, which was awarded Dec. 12, 2019, but announced Thursday, makes Booz Allen the SEC’s major provider of cybersecurity services. Booz Allen will provide the SEC with “leading-edge, threat-centric, proactive cyber defense” that can detect and proactively address unknown threats and keep up with the changes in the cyber industry, Senior Vice President Mark Gamis said in a press release the company published.

The firm will also provide advanced cyber capabilities at scale. Booz Allen said its solutions will draw on a wide range of technical expertise, including advanced threat hunting, penetration testing, DevSecOps, security engineering, malware analysis/reverse engineering, compliance, privacy and threat modeling.
