C3 AI to Provide USAF With Logistics Application to Optimize Aircraft Fuel Use

The U.S. Air Force will use C3 AI’s air logistics optimization application to ensure efficiency in aircraft fuel use.

The C3 AI application uses information from sensors and mission data to create prediction models that would help Air Force officials establish more efficient flight protocols. According to the company, the application was proven to improve the accuracy and reliability of fuel consumption predictions.

The application was chosen under a five-year, $500 million production-other transaction agreement from the Department of Defense, C3 AI said Monday.

The selection is one of several government-related awards C3 AI has received in recent months.

In February, the contractor secured an Air Force contract to provide mission-critical artificial intelligence applications in support of the 59th Test and Evaluation Squadron’s Crowd-Sourced Flight Data Program. The company was tasked to work with Intelligent Waves and 59TES to develop AI programs that use high-fidelity data to accelerate crowd-sourced flight data implementation on the F-35A fighter jet.

In December, C3 AI started working with Booz Allen Hamilton to deliver artificial intelligence and digital modernization support services to state, local and federal government clients.
