CBP Orders Additional ISR Drones From Auterion Government Solutions

Auterion Government Solutions has announced that it will provide the U.S. Customs and Border Protection with additional small unmanned aircraft systems to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

The agency exercised an option under the Commercial Solutions Opening Pilot Program to order more of the platforms, Auterion said.

CBP received an initial delivery of unmanned vertical takeoff and landing ISR systems in 2023 for an operational evaluation and field assessment under the SUAS CSOP program.

The company noted that it also provided the agency with Auterion Mission Control, a ground control application to plan and execute autonomous missions for any vehicle powered by AuterionOS, a vendor-independent, open architecture-based operating system for autonomous systems.

Auterion said its software offerings are intended to provide a user-friendly interface that reduces cognitive load for CBP operators.

CBP’s initial order also includes basic operator training and software customization to ensure that the ISR functionality enables successful missions, the company added.
