CDAO Launches Sixth Global Information Dominance Experiment
The Department of Defense Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office is hosting the sixth iteration of the Global Information Dominance Experiment in partnership with the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
GIDE involves activities designed to evaluate military applications of various technologies and machine learning and artificial intelligence models to advance the Joint All-Domain Command and Control warfighting concept.
According to Craig Martell, chief digital and artificial intelligence officer and a 2023 Wash100 awardee, the experiments will test workflows that allow for faster, more data-informed, human-in-the-loop decisions to enhance globally integrated operations.
GIDE 6 will run through July 26, Defense .gov reported. The program’s fifth iteration was held in January.
Martell previously said the experiments aim to understand the right way to implement JADC2 and dissolve the barriers hindering data sharing across the joint force.
The series of tests under GIDE was recently relaunched as CDAO develops a new data integration layer to enable data sharing between the joint force and allied countries.
