Chris Coligado to Lead Smoothstack’s Federal Market

Smoothstack has appointed Chris Coligado as its executive vice president and federal market lead. In his dual roles, Coligado will oversee the strategic direction and implementation of the company’s federal practice.

Coligado’s appointment is expected to ramp up the public sector’s adoption of the company’s hire-train-deploy model, an initiative that addresses the technology skills gap impacting critical data projects, Smoothstack said.

Coligado, a 4×24 member, brings over 20 years of technology consulting experience, including tenures at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led various technology modernization projects within several federal agencies, and at 22nd Century Technologies, where he spearheaded the technology solutions for both civilian and defense sectors.

Smootstack CEO John Akarra said Coligado’s extensive experience will help achieve the company’s growth targets in the federal sector, noting the slow adoption of HTD model in the said business area.

The company’s HTD approach uses its proprietary Six-Stack algorithm to identify and train qualified software developers, providing government clients with work-ready tech talent within 10 to 12 weeks.

Coligado expressed his excitement about his new role, emphasizing the potential of Smoothstack’s HTD model to address tech talent shortages and enhance the federal sector’s digital capabilities.
