Cognosante Exceeds VA Cloud Migration Goal, Completes 350 Applications Ahead of Schedule

Cognosante announced that a project to migrate production applications into the Veterans Affairs Enterprise Cloud for the Department of Veterans Affairs has been completed. In a press statement, Cognosante said the project goals were exceeded with the successful migration of 350 production applications five months before schedule.

The Cloud Operations and Migrations Services project team, working in tandem with multiple VA and contracting teams since 2018, accomplished the feat as part of the VA’s digital modernization initiative, Cognosante said.

Cognosante leveraged cloud expertise to enhance agility and efficiency. The achievement signifies substantial progress in improving performance and service for the benefit of the nation’s veterans, the company said.

Erick Peters, Cognosante’s chief technology officer, said the achievement was made possible with the use of Cognosante Cloud Foundations to ensure “velocity, nimble governance, enhanced maturity, cloud security and compliance” while aligning with agencies’ Cloud Smart journeys.

Philip Dietz, the company’s general manager for military and veteran health, said the achievement resulted in performance gains and efficiencies at the VA, leading to service improvements for veterans.
