Derrick Pledger Joins Maximus as Chief Digital and Information Officer

Government services provider Maximus has announced the appointment of Derrick Pledger as chief digital and information officer.

He will drive growth by overseeing modernization and enterprise information technology strategies while ensuring that government agencies receive improved service delivery and customer experience, Maximus said Tuesday.

Maximus President and CEO Bruce Caswell, a past Wash100 winner, said the CDIO is expected to utilize emerging technology, such as artificial intelligence, to improve government partners’ business processes. He noted that the new role will replace the chief information officer position.

The company said Pledger holds over 20 years of government technology experience. He previously served as CDIO at Leidos, where he led an expert team managing a digital ecosystem for 47,000 employees.

According to Maximus, Pledger recently oversaw an effort to upskill CDIO personnel in AI, analytics and cloud.

Pledger is a U.S. Army veteran who has deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa.
