DMI Names Federal Health Veteran as New Growth VP

A federal health veteran with a track record of driving business growth has taken over as the lead of a DMI public sector unit.

On Tuesday, DMI announced Orstell Barnett as the new vice president of growth of its federal health sector.

Barnett most recently worked at DLH as its director of strategic growth, leading a team in charge of creating market strategies, rolling out growth plans and helping increase market presence. He also gained experience working for several companies, including ASD Federal, 7Delta and EDS, DMI said.

Chief Growth Officer Trey Theimer, a 4×24 member, said Barnett’s addition to the company’s leadership team helps deliver transformative solutions, supporting federal health agencies in achieving their mission due to his federal health sector experience, combined with his experience in developing capture strategies and nurturing relationships.

DMI’s new federal sector VP assumes the post as the health sector is facing smaller budget allocations compared to funds provided during the pandemic. The sector is further constrained due to a mandate to improve its cyber posture. In December, the Department of Health and Human Services issued a concept paper laying down a plan for tackling cyberthreats.
