DOD Official: CJADC2 Should Allow Units to Build Their Application Based on Shared Data

The Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control needs a stable foundation of shared data, allowing different units to build their solution based on their needs, according to Col. Matthew Strohmeyer, director for the Global Information Dominance Experiments at the Office of the Secretary of Defense Chief Digital and AI Office.

In a C4ISRnet webinar, Strohmeyer, a past Potomac Officers Club event speaker, shared that his team has been unlocking data and providing it to officials, along with tools that could help in any mission. Launched in February 2023, GIDE has been gathering feedback from users on a wide range of technologies through experiments, Breaking Defense reported.

Strohmeyer said that his team is seeking more feedback that highlights faults within their experiments, allowing them to easily identify what areas are working and which are not.

GIDE plays a vital role in the development of CJADC2. Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks described how GIDE has since allowed CJADC2 to achieve “minimum viable capability.”
