DoD: Pandemic Will Not Delay CMMC Program

The Department of Defense has announced that it will not delay the timeline of its Cybersecurity Maturity Certification program in the face of the coronavirus public health crisis.

Katie Arrington, the program's lead and a 2020 Wash100 winner, stressed that the agency will not halt work despite its efforts to save lives during the outbreak.

CMMC was created to accredit government contractors based on their level of cybersecurity maturity, Nextgov reported Thursday.

The Department of Defense had previously signed a memorandum of agreement with the CMMC Accreditation Body, which will serve as a third-party auditor for the program.

CMMC-AB said it is working to publicize more information as the DoD is focusing on the coronavirus crisis.
