DoD Rules Out Splitting of JEDI Contract

Lt. Col. Robert Carver, a spokesman for the Department of Defense, has asserted that the department does not plan on splitting the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure contract between Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. However, Carver told Breaking Defense that the DoD is open to possibly overturning the awarding of the JEDI contract. Carver further explained in an email that the DoD is looking to make a new award based upon re-evaluations to meet potential concerns raised by the Court of Federal Claims, solicitation requirements and existing evaluation criteria, Breaking Defense reported Monday. Carver maintained that splitting is not an option since both contract and solicitation requirements call for a single award. Carver made the comments amid Amazon’s lawsuit against the DoD to overturn the potential $10B award to Microsoft.
