Executive Profile: Douglas Natal, General Manager of Sumo Logic’s Public Sector Business
Douglas Natal is the general manager of the public sector business unit at Sumo Logic, a secure, cloud-native, machine data analytics software company based in California. In this role, Natal oversees the company’s go-to-market strategy, which is targeted at providing mission support to public sector clients across the U.S.
The 20-year government technology market veteran has expertise in high-performance computing, data analytics, big data, cloud computing and identity management, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Natal joined Sumo Logic after serving as vice president and general manager of federal systems at MapR Technologies. For over three years, Natal worked with the MapR executive leadership team and contributed to market messaging, energizing sales and promoting business development.
He was also appointed as chief strategy officer and general manager of federal systems at Crossmatch Technologies, where he was in charge of all federal business functions, including account management, business development, channel management, system engineering, sales operations, marketing and proposal management.
The executive also completed a two-year term at Oracle, where he was named as director of public sector cloud computing for North America and vice president of the public sector business unit at Taleo before its acquisition by Oracle in 2012.
Natal earned his bachelor’s degree in international finance from Villanova University and a master’s degree in international business from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
