Executive Profile: Tim Byers, Jacobs’ SVP, GM for Federal, Environmental Solutions

Tim Byers serves as Jacobs' senior vice president and general manager for federal and environmental solutions. He is responsible for the company's global delivery of mission services and solutions to federal, public-sector, private-sector and defense contractor clients.

Byers also spent nearly two years as Jacobs' federal strategy vice president and as a sales manager for the company's buildings and infrastructure segment.

Before joining Jacobs in June 2018, Byers served as a senior vice president and executive manager of defense strategy and business development at CH2M, according to his LinkedIn profile

He handled the company's general business strategy in delivering sustainable infrastructure and installation support services for the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps. Byers also spent a year as CH2M's Air Force client manager.

For two years, Byers served in Atkins as the senior vice president for the North American federal defense sector. He was responsible for business development, sales, financials and programs and project execution.

He spent over two decades serving in the Air Force. Byers left the service in September 2013 as a civil engineer who served at166 installations worldwide.

His other roles in the military include director of installations and mission support, commander of a mission support group and chief of readiness and mission support.   

Byers earned a master's degree in engineering management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky. 

He also undertook leadership and national security programs at The George Washington University, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Center for Creative Leadership and University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
