FAA Conducts Market Research to Identify Potential Contractors for Cloud Services 2.0
The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting market research to identify cloud service resellers interested in supporting the agency’s operational mission.
According to a draft performance work statement for FAA Cloud Services 2.0, the agency requires access to the cloud infrastructure and services of Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, the two service providers enabling the FAA’s current cloud environment.
The CSP reseller services will support the FAA’s mission support, research and development and mission-critical operating environments, according to a notice posted on SAM .gov.
The FAA plans to award five-year contracts to multiple CSPs, under which the contractors will deliver AWS infrastructure as a service and platform as a service and Microsoft Azure Iaas and PaaS. Work also includes providing processing, storage, networks and other computing resources to enable the deployment of software applications in the cloud environment.
General Dynamics Information Technology is the incumbent FAA cloud services contractor. GDIT is performing work under a 10-year, $314.9 million sole-source contract, which will end on Aug. 25, 2025.
Responses to the notice are due April 9.
