Former DIA Director Joins DTC Board of Directors
Retired Lt. Gen. Robert Ashley, a former Defense Intelligence Agency director and a past Potomac Officers Club speaker, has joined the board of directors and government security committee of DTC Government Solutions.
As a member of the board and committee, Ashley is expected to support the company’s goal of improving its offerings in the security and intelligence sector, utilizing his over three decades of experience serving the U.S. military, DTC Government Solutions said.
Ashley became DIA director in 2017, leading over 16,000 employees providing intelligence on foreign military and operating environments. In 2019, he received a Wash100 award from Executive Mosaic in recognition of his contributions to the DIA’s modernization efforts, including adopting emerging technologies to enhance data collection.
Prior to the DIA role, Ashley was appointed to various leadership roles with the U.S. Army, including G-2 deputy chief of staff and director of intelligence at the Army Joint Special Operations Command and the U.S. Central Command.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in strategic intelligence from Defense Intelligence College and a second master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Army War College.
“I am looking forward to joining the DTC Government Solutions Board of Directors, working closely with my fellow Board members to carry out DTC’s critically important mission of delivering communications to our military, without compromise,” Ashley said.
