Former Peraton Exec Joins ManTech as Navy Segment Senior Vice President

Mark Bortfeld has joined ManTech as senior vice president of its Navy segment. He replaced Red Hoover, who served ManTech for over 10 years following 27 years in the U.S. Navy.

Bortfeld will report to David Hathaway, executive vice president and general manager of ManTech’s defense sector. Hathaway, a 4×24 member, expressed confidence that Bortfeld’s 30 years of experience in government contracting, operations and service delivery will help support Navy customers’ missions, ManTech said.

Bortfeld, a U.S. Navy veteran, was previously the president and general manager of Peraton’s Navy and Marine Corps program. His decades-long career also includes time spent holding executive positions at Perspecta, Hewlett-Packard and Electronic Data Systems.

As ManTech SVP, Bortfeld said his goal is to enable the company’s Navy segment to establish and achieve a benchmark of performance on Navy customer missions. Bortfeld is among the first major executive team hires since global investment firm Carlyle Group acquires ManTech in 2022.
