Granite-Healy Tibbitts JV Selected for $750M Navy Waterfront Multiple Award Construction Contract
A joint venture between Granite and Healy Tibbitts Builders has landed a spot on the $750M Waterfront Multiple Award Construction Contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest.
As part of the contracting pool for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity MACC, the Granite-Healy Tibbitts JV will compete for task orders requiring new construction, repair and renovation of NAVFAC SW waterfront facilities.
Contract work will support Navy vessels and port operations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, Granite said Tuesday.
According to an announcement posted on Defense .gov, contractors may be tasked with providing construction services for piers, wharves, quay walls, bulkheads, relieving platforms, cellular structures, dry docks/caissons, breakwaters, fixed moorings, docks and marinas, primary and secondary fender systems, sheet piles and sea walls, as well as dredging and disposal services.
In a statement, Matt Tyler, vice president of Granite’s federal operations, welcomed the opportunity to expand its relationship with the NAVFAC SW through the company’s joint venture partnership with Healy Tibbitts Builders.
Tasks awarded under the MACC amount to $50K to $100M and will run for a two-year base period, which can be extended for three more years through 2025.
Two tasks reserved for highly qualified small businesses will be awarded to Marathon Construction and R.E. Staite Engineering.
Fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance funds worth $5K will be obligated to the selected contractors at the time of award, all of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
