Honeywell Wins Air Force C-sUAS Prototype Contract
The Cyber Innovation Center, an innovation partner of the Air Force Global Strike Command, has selected Honeywell to develop a minimum viable prototype that will inform how the AFGSC will protect its mobile assets from small unmanned aerial systems.
Honeywell will perform work under a contract award resulting from Strikewerx’s Mobile C-sUAS Swarming Defeat Challenge market research event in 2023.
The company beat out 21 top competitors that submitted proposals to counter drone swarms, Strikewerx said Tuesday.
“Our market research uncovered a lot of great solutions, but the Honeywell proposal was the best integration of detection, cyber defeat, and kinetic defeat technology in a single package,” CIC President Kevin Nolten said. “I look forward to seeing what data we produce to inform how a moving prototype can defeat swarms of moving sUAS.”
According to AFGSC Chief Scientist Donna Senft, the project is expected to improve U.S. integrated deterrence against aerial drones.
