U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded the Institute of Applied Engineering at the University of South Florida a potential $85M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for access to applied research and advanced technology development. Under the agreement, USSOCOM will collaborate with IAE to conduct research, hardware and software development, test and evaluation, demonstration, prototyping, and limited system production. The institute will also enable access to USF education and training resources, the Department of Defense said Tuesday. Work on the effort will be performed in Tampa, Florida, and is expected to be finished by Feb. 9, 2025. The contract was awarded through other than full and open competition.
