Jeth Rey Nominated as Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G6
Maj. Gen. Jeth Rey has been nominated to become the U.S. Army’s next deputy chief of staff, G6, according to a source familiar with Rey.
In the said role, Rey will serve as the principal military adviser to the Army’s chief of staff and chief information officer on matters concerning network architecture, cyber operations and global communications, DefenseScoop reported.
If confirmed by the Senate, Rey, a past Potomac Officers Club event speaker, will succeed Lt. Gen. John Morrison, who has held the G6 position since 2020 and played a key role in developing the Army’s unified network strategy.
Prior to his nomination, Rey directed the Army’s network cross-functional team within Futures Command before transitioning to the Pentagon as director of architecture, operations, networks and space within the G6.
Rey’s tenure focused on advancing the Army toward data centricity, which became a key objective of the secretary of the Army.
