KBR Awarded Top Contractor Title at Two NASA Centers for the Second Year

NASA has recognized KBR’s move to partner with small businesses to support its mission with two new awards.

The science, technology and engineering solutions provider’s efforts were recognized with 2023 Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year awards at the U.S. space agency’s Johnson Space Center and Goddard Space Flight Center.

The award, handed out by the NASA Office of Small Business, honors companies partnering with small businesses to maximize their unique capabilities and contribute to the space agency’s goals, KBR said.

Byron Bright, president of KBR Government Solutions U.S. and a 4×24 member, said the company recognizes that collaboration significantly contributes to fostering innovation. He added that building relationships with small businesses helps produce solutions.

The award is not the first time KBR has been recognized for its work. It received the Small Business Administration Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence in Research and Development in 2023 and the NASA Ames Research Center for Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year award in 2022.

Apart from collaborating with NASA, it entered into a partnership with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine in December 2023 to help in traumatic brain injury research.
