Leidos Names Darrell Williams VP of Defense Group Logistics
Leidos has announced the appointment of retired Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams as the company's vice president of defense group logistics, effective immediately.
Williams is now responsible for supporting the planning, oversight and execution of defense logistics activities, as well as for driving innovation across all logistics offerings.
“Through his experience directing supply chains for the U.S. military, as well as federal, state, local and international partners, and overseeing the National Defense Stockpile, Darrell has demonstrated strong leadership, supporting optimization and change management,” said Leidos Defense President Gerry Fasano, a Potomac Officers Club member and a 2020 Wash100 awardee.
Fasano added that Williams brings into his new role an understanding of Leidos customers' “can't fail” missions and a commitment to their success.
Leidos' defense group portfolio includes systems, solutions and services across air, land, sea, space and cyberspace for global customers.
Williams most recently served as the director of the Defense Logistics Agency, where he provided strategic leadership in worldwide logistics for the Department of Defense.
He also oversaw the National Defense Stockpile, an international network of 25 distribution centers that stores, secures and sells raw materials for the military.
A military graduate of the Hampton Institute's Reserve Officer Training Corps program, Williams was commissioned into the Army Quartermaster Training Corps in 1983.
He is a graduate of the Army and General Staff College, the School of Advanced Military Studies and the National War College.
Williams earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the Hampton Institute and master's degrees in military arts and sciences, national security and strategic studies and business management with a focus on logistics.
Leidos is a Fortune 500 company that provides information technology, engineering and science solutions and services for customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil and health markets.
