LexisNexis’ Permit Wizard to Help Transport Giant Christmas Tree to National Capital

LexisNexis will provide permitting services to ensure that a 63-foot Christmas tree will survive the nearly 1,000-mile journey from West Virginia to Washington, D.C.

Haywood Talcove, CEO of LexisNexis Special Services, a 2022 Wash100 awardee and a 4×24 member, said the company will deploy the Permit Wizard solution to help transporters secure route approvals seamlessly. Permit Wizard allows trucking companies to enter their routing information directly on the website for reviews before it gets sent to the appropriate state agencies for approval, LexisNexis said.

Permit Wizard is a service offered by LexisNexis VitalCheck Network.

Apart from logistics support, the company is known for its cybersecurity risk advisory services but has also been scrutinized on the cyber front.

In September, Talcove said criminal groups use generative artificial intelligence to steal COVID-19 relief benefits from the U.S. government. He explained in a Fox News Digital interview that criminal organizations offer generative AI and other techniques like deepfakes to help actors steal up to at least $1 trillion from the government by 2024.

On the other side of the spectrum, a fellow at the Electronic Privacy Information Center warned that LexisNexis’ platforms would be ill-advised because the company sells personal data to the government and law enforcement without users’ consent.
