LookingGlass to Provide Threat Data Analytics Support to DIU

LookingGlass Cyber Solutions, a cybersecurity software and solutions provider based in Baltimore, Maryland, has entered into a prototype agreement with the Defense Innovation Unit to deliver threat data analytics support.

Under the terms of the engagement, LookingGlass will leverage offerings from its cyber solutions portfolio to provide the DIU with increased situational awareness, visibility and data analytics capabilities.

The prototype agreement comes as the DIU continues to face significant challenges in gaining visibility into the vast amount of public, private and open source cyber threat data, LookingGlass said

Ronald Nielson, senior vice president of public sector at LookingGlass, said the company is keen to work with the DIU. In a statement, Nielsen acknowledged the organization’s help in facilitating the onboarding and contracting experience, which allowed LookingGlass to begin work in a short period of time.

The DIU is able to rapidly execute agreements to prototype and scale commercial technologies within the Department of Defense through a solicitation and competitive evaluation process called the Commercial Solutions Opening. Technology acquisitions facilitated by the DIU are intended to bolster national security initiatives.

Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, LookingGlass specializes in delivering intelligence-driven risk mitigation services, including global attack surface monitoring, threat modeling and network defense. The company consists of a services unit and a product unit, which is known for pioneering innovative CloudShield threat mitigation products. LookingGlass technologies allow organizations to quickly identify and protect against threats.
