Menlo Security Joins Microsoft Active Protections Program

Menlo Security announced that it has joined the Microsoft Active Protections Program to obtain advanced vulnerability information.

MAPP is a program that provides Microsoft's software security partners early access to vulnerability information to allow them to quickly provide protection to their customers, Menlo Services said Monday

“Protecting customers from harm requires engineering excellence as well as robust partnerships with defenders across the industry," said Kowsik Guruswamy, Menlo Security's chief technology officer.

"By sharing actionable security information with trusted partners like Menlo security we ensure customers have effortless access to secure solutions,” Guruswamy added.

Menlo Security said the partnership would expand the capabilities of the company's Menlo Security Global Proxy Platform, which was designed to protect customers against browser zero-day attacks and malicious email attachments.

Microsoft's offering would provide information about newly discovered threats without requiring customers to download and upgrade software, Menlo Security added in its press release.

Menlo Security's platform is built on the company's Isolation Core, which was designed to separate enterprise networks from the public web while providing secure connections to the internet and software-as-a-service applications.

Eric Doerr, general manager of Microsoft Security Response Center, said customer protection requires engineering excellence and strong partnerships between industry players.

“By sharing actionable security information with trusted partners like Menlo Security, we ensure customers have effortless access to secure solutions,” Doerr said.

Menlo Security is a privately held computer and network security company based in Mountain View, California. It specializes in internet isolation and cybersecurity, according to its LinkedIn profile.
