Michael Buscher Joins UAV Factory as Chief Strategy Officer

Michael Buscher, former chief growth officer at Bigbear .ai and a Potomac Officers Club member, has been appointed as the chief strategy officer of Irvington, New York-based unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer UAV Factory. He has served on UAV Factory’s board of directors since January.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Buscher will help the drone maker through its merger with Jennings Aeronautics. Talking about his recent appointment, the POC member told ExecutiveBiz that UAV Factory is committed to innovating unmanned technologies to improve daily lives.

At BigBear, he was responsible for organic and inorganic growth initiatives across the intelligence community, defense and commercial markets. He was also the vice president of intelligence and special operations at Peraton before joining BigBear. Other leadership roles that Buscher held throughout his 30-year career include VP and National Intelligence Center Director at Huntington Ingalls Industries and CEO of Vanguard Defense Industries, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The newly appointed UAV Factory leader also served under the U.S. government. He was a special operations officer in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves and was a senior operations officer at the CIA.

Buscher is currently on the board of advisers at Fortem Technologies and the advisory council for the George Washington University School of Business.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and affairs at the University of Washington and a graduate diploma in international relations and affairs at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
