Microsoft to Enhance USAF IT Capabilities
Microsoft has partnered with the U.S. Air Force to enable airmen to be more efficient, effective and focused on their missions rather than spending time managing information technology infrastructure. The partnership also aims to improve the total cost of ownership, enhance security and compliance, and enable next-generation collaboration, Microsoft said Tuesday. Cloud One, which provides access to Azure Government, is a migration center of excellence that enables the USAF to rapidly transform legacy systems into modern apps and exploit the agility, scale and global presence afforded by the cloud. Apps deployed to the Azure platform inherit the platform’s security controls by design, further reducing operational costs and freeing up resources to focus on the mission. Meanwhile, combining Microsoft 365 Government and Azure Government will enable the Air Force to obtain the scale and performance of modern cloud tools while maintaining compliance with the strict compliance requirements of the Pentagon.
