Mitre’s board of trustees has elected Sue Gordon, former principal deputy director of national intelligence, as vice chairwoman.

Aside from serving in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, she held the deputy director role at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and senior executive positions at the Central Intelligence Agency, where she helped establish the CIA’s venture arm In-Q-Tel.

Gordon has been a member of the board since 2021, Intelligence Community News reported.

She also brings a wealth of experience from the private sector. Gordon has been serving on the boards of CACI International, Avantus Federal and BlackSky. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is currently an adviser to Pallas Advisors and Primer .ai and an independent director at SecurityScorecard.

The vice chair will work with Rodney Slater, former U.S. secretary of transportation, in leading the board of trustees. Slater, a trustee since 2015, was officially named as the board’s chairman.
