Navy Awards Progeny Systems With Video Automation Entity Classification Contract

Virginia-based Progeny Systems has secured a $9.3M cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the "Automation Entity Classification in Video Using Soft Biometrics" from the U.S. Navy. The contract provides for the enhancement of Progeny Systems’ machine learning, image processing and computer vision capabilities, which are integral in intelligent solutions to real-world data analytics problems, through further research and development.

Work for the contract will be performed in Manassas, Virginia, through March 2024, the Department of Defense said.

Incremental funding will be added to the initial obligation of fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation funds worth $.1.5M.
