Navy Hands Amentum Potential $87M Contract for Systems Engineering Support

Maryland-based technical and engineering services provider Amentum has been awarded a potential $87M contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. 

The contract mandates Amentum to provide engineering support to the NSWC's naval weapons systems, weapon control platforms and warfare systems for guided missile and ballistic missile submarines and surface vessels such as the Aegis, DDG-1000 Guided Missile Destroyers, Ship Self-Defense System, U.S. Coast Guard cutters and Guided Missile Frigates, the company said Thursday.

Work will be performed mainly in Dahlgren and Dam Neck, Virginia, the Washington Navy Yard and in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options. 

Amentum, headquartered in Germantown, employs more than 20,000 people in 48 states and 28 foreign countries and territories.
