AFS, Google Set Up Data, AI Center of Excellence for Federal Agencies

Accenture Federal Services and Google Public Sector have set up a Data & Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence, aimed at aiding federal agencies in streamlining citizen services with tailored solutions and the benefits of Google Cloud generative artificial intelligence technologies.

The Data & AI Center of Excellence provides secure management of sensitive or classified workloads while ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, it offers targeted expertise with skilled data and AI professionals, Accenture said.

According to the companies, clients can leverage Google’s comprehensive AI solutions, including language models, the Vertex AI platform, optimized infrastructure and code generation tools to accelerate software development, through the center.

The center’s establishment is an expansion of AFS and Google Public Sector’s collaboration in 2023 with the launch of the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, which supports U.S. federal agencies in cyberattack detection and response.

John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services, said that responsibly using large language models could pave the way for innovative capabilities and operational improvements within the federal government.

Meanwhile, Google Public Sector CEO Karen Dahut said the Data & AI Center of Excellence, coupled with Google’s expertise in AI and data handling, will allow federal agencies to effectively harness the power of AI, empowering them to succeed in their missions.
