Amentum Modernizing Marine Corps Aircraft Fleet in $145M Navy Contract
The U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Amentum a $145 million contract to overhaul the U.S. Marine Corps’ UC-35D aircraft fleet.
The five-year contract entails providing comprehensive lifecycle support, including engineering, sustainment and logistics services, Amentum said.
Since June, 10 aircraft stationed across five domestic and international sites have undergone modernization and maintenance by the Virginia-based firm.
Cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality and predictive analytics have also been employed to optimize communication between on-site personnel and off-site experts.
Particularly, Amentum’s proprietary Augmented Reality Remote Expert and MerlinMX solutions are being used to enhance the Marine Corps’ transport operations.
Karl Spinnenweber, president of the Critical Mission Group, highlighted Amentum’s expertise in ensuring readiness for complex missions, including personnel and cargo movement and medical evacuations.
Joe Kelly, Amentum’s senior vice president of sustainment analytics and aviation solutions, emphasized the company’s commitment to developing advanced technologies and ensuring that the Marine Corps fulfills its demanding operational requirements.
