Ansys to Drive Digital Engineering as Part of BAE’s Mission Advantage Program

Pittsburgh-based engineering simulation company Ansys is now a member of BAE Systems’ Mission Advantage technology partnership program, under which it will help BAE’s Department of Defense customers advance their adoption of digital and model-based systems engineering.

Ansys’ entry into the program aligns with a DOD directive issued in December addressing digital engineering methodologies, technologies and practices in the department’s acquisition strategy.

The capabilities that Ansys brings to Mission Advantage include solutions enabling better decision-making in the development of 5G, digital twins and artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Daniel Perkins, BAE Systems’ intelligence and security sector director of strategy and technology partnerships, expressed excitement on the collaboration, seeing it as “a force multiplier” for digital mission engineering delivery to the DOD, Ansys said.

Walt Hearn, Ansys senior vice president of worldwide sales and customer excellence, said participating in Mission Advantage demonstrates the company’s solid commitment to advance digital engineering across various industries and support the creation of next-generation technologies.

BAE Systems launched Mission Advantage in June 2023 to enable its intelligence and security business unit to grow relationships with other organizations. Amazon Web Services is now one of the key members of the program, according to Perkins.
