Army Implements New SaaS Solution to Improve Business, Demand Planning

The U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems has implemented the Integrated Business Planning Demand Planning software-as-a-service solution within the Logistics Modernization Program, an enterprise resource planning system that builds, sustains and generates warfighting capabilities.

IBP Demand Planning, which replaces the Supply Chain Management Demand Planning system, uses historical data, statistical algorithms and machine learning to deliver accurate demand forecasts for clothing and equipment and repair parts and components for the Army Materiel Command and its Life Cycle Management Commands, Army .mil reported.

The new tool also provides simulations of various scenarios to inform demand planning decisions, customizable planning views and real-time alerts to monitor key performance indicators and immediately address potential issues through the LMP, which is part of the PEO EIS’ Defense Integrated Business Systems portfolio.

According to the Army, the transition to IBP Demand Planning will enable the service branch to keep pace with changing demand conditions and meet business requirements.
