Ascentium to Support Navy’s CANES System Under Multimillion-Contract

Ascentium announced that the U.S. Navy has awarded the service-disabled, veteran-owned small business a multimillion-dollar contract to support the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services system.

Ascentium will provide its Automated Information Datacenter Analytics platform, an automation and analytics solution that reduces the administrative work required to maintain CANES operations. The company will also develop, sustain, deploy and modernize orchestration and dashboard capabilities for automated surface and submarine infrastructure network operations.

Andrew Hong, president of Ascentium, said the company will use its Agile Analytics methodology to ensure that the Navy delivers rapid and incremental solutions as needed for CANES.

The contract expands the company’s collaboration with the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, Ascentium said.

Other companies are also working on the CANES program through Navy contracts.

John Hassoun, president and CEO of VTG, said in April that his company previously installed and integrated CANES aboard several naval vessels. His statement came after the Navy Program Executive Office for C4I and the Tactical Networks Program Office awarded VTG a spot on the CANES contract and was tasked with building the platform.
